Job Description

Summary:
To perform professional assessment individually and as team-leader of a multi-disciplinary team in a wide range of health facilities licensed under RSA 151 utilizing specialized knowledge and skills in investigation, analysis, and evidentiary documentation, technical assistance, and evaluating compliance with applicable state and federal health and safety laws and regulations for the purpose of determining state licensure and to ensure public safety.

Responsibilities:
Inspecting licensed facilities and providers to determine compliance with RSA 151 and the applicable licensing rules

Citing deficiencies and issuing deficiency reports if a facility, entity or provider is not in compliance with RSA 151 and/or the applicable licensing rules

Reviewing and approving Plans of Correction relative to licensed facilities, residences and providers when deficiencies have been cited

Conducting compliance monitoring visits as necessary to determine that the facility, residence or provider has implemented the corrective action set forth in the Plan of Correction such that the facility, residence or provider is now in compliance with the applicable statute and licensing or certification rules

Investigating complaints lodged against facilities, entities and providers licensed under RSA 151

Providing training and otherwise working collaboratively with facilities, entities and providers to better ensure that they understand the rules and to assist them in maintaining compliance with the rules.

Providing consultation and technical assistance to providers and providing formal education to providers and stakeholders in the context of forums and conferences to providers and stakeholders with regard to regulatory requirements and best practices within a designated program area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: A degree from a recognized college or university with major study in nursing or a related human services field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience:
Four years' experience as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse practicing in long term care, assisted living, or in a health care setting. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

License/Certification: Current, New Hampshire Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license, New Hampshire driver's license and access to transportation with liability insurance coverage as required by state laws.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be willing and able to attend out-of-state training sessions as assigned.

Employees may be required to pay an agency/union fee.
